    Moving a Coop/Shed

    Barred rock flight height?

    I have a new flock of Barred Rock whenever the dogs get acclimated I plan on letting them free range under supervision. How high can barred rock hens fly? Is there any way to "clip" their wings.

    Run flooring

    Leaves sound like a good idea, and I could get enough right now to last all winter. I am thinking that wood shavings will be to absorbent in an open run. Would something like mulch work after I run out of leaves.

    Run flooring

    I have an existing 16'x16' dog kennel fenced on all sides and top, but the flooring is concrete blocks. I don't want to tear up the flooring, and the best idea I can come up with is 2-3 inches of sand. Is there anything else I could put over is that would be better?

    I have been stalking this site for nearly 3 months and am finally becoming a member. Now I'm done only soaking up all of your wisdom and ready to start joining in. I am making my first ventures at raising a small flock of barred rock, and am having a blast learning.
