    Our broody silkie hen kept laying until we put her in her brooder coop! The other hens were bugging her and she wouldn't stay put. Once she went into the brooder she hasn't laid yet and that was like 3 weeks ago! Good luck!!

    bairo, thanks I cant tell if the chirping is coming from that egg or one of the other 8. It has made a defiant whole in the side of the shell so I'm assuming if its still alive then it is getting air.

    Place them on their sides and then just WALK AWAY! I made the mistake of checking on them too much and shrink wrapped like 12 of them and then I had to help 2 out after i realized what I'd done. 1 ended up dying with in 12hrs. Good luck and so excited for you:)

    incubator recommendations

    Ok so I am looking for recommendations on descent and reasonable priced incubators. I think my home made incubator is the reason for my failed eggs on day 18!! So bummed too! At least hopefully I'll get 4 babies from my broody:) Thanks for the input!!
