I am hatching a clutch of coturnix quail in a well-made incubator and they have not hatched. They are overdue and when I candle them I DO see complete black and then of course the air sac. Yes, I am sure it is the air sac and I will post a few pictured ASAP! They were due the 18, or 19.
You can tell by candling them, you can do this in a pitch black room with a strong flashlight, they will be fine with the temp, just rember to turn them 3 or more times a day until 3 days before hatch, Here's a helpful website:

Please help!!! My mom told me that eggs are harder to kill than people might think so that reassured me a bit cause she also said that when she was young she would take her hen's fertile eggs and toss 'em in the air and roll 'em around so that helped me a bit.
I am so sorry for your loss! Your eggs have a slim chance of making it because they have not been turned. I may be wrong, also because someone I know had great hatch rates without turning them. Best of luck though!
My cat knocked my incubator off my shelf onto the carpet and batted them around a couple times! They were close to hatching so they wern't gew when it happend, my question is, WILL THEY MAKE IT????
