    Molting in spring?

    One of my hens looks like she's molting, but I thought molts took place in the fall! Her neck and chest areas are bare with deep red skin showing. There are pin feathers at the edges of the bare spots - she looks like a porcupine. Her vent looks swollen with a oozing, white discharge present...

    @ karimw - You must be thinking 35 months instead of weeks to come up with 2 years old. 35 weeks is about 9 months old. I've had this happen twice now and no visible damage to my hens was seen. Is there anything that I should be doing to prevent or treat this?
