We have a small furniture business so I can get my hands on LOTS of scrap lumber. I also drive a school bus and substitute at the school too. I do have an old wooden ladder in my old coop that's at my mother in laws that I had forgotten about. Guess, I need to go get it this weekend.

This is my coop from the beginning Then, I divided it into 2 sections Then, I added nesting boxes and put clear plastic around it for the winter. I added black felt paper (because it was just laying around) between the two pens to keep out the cold.

I've got my incubator up and running.Now, waiting on humidity and temp to regulate and these eggs should be babies in just a few short weeks. Yay !!!

Hatching your own does give you a more feeling of accomplishment than just buying and incubating which is fun too. Congrats.

Two weeks ago my hens weren't laying at all. I put a light in the coop and changed feeds and started getting 2-3 eggs a day. Yesterday I found a whole dozen. I got so excited I fired up the bator this morning. If things keep looking up I will get the sportsman ready too. Hatching season is ON !!!
