Here you go!
This is our silver sebrite, first called Tallulah - until he crowed!
This is our splash silkie, first called Dottie - until he also crowed! Now we call him "Doug". He used to hang out on my desk while I worked.
I'm in North Albuquerque Acres, and Thursday's storm was MUCH worse than last night. Last night's was more of an ordinary thunderstorm - wind wasn't too bad, rain was okay, some lightening, and it was over in about 90 min. Thursday was UNREAL. One of the worst thunderstorms I've seen, and I'm...
I hooked up a $15 "coil stand" mister to a garden hose. I put it inside the run and I run it for most of the hot hours. At first the birds were afraid of it, but now they love it! (And they are so clean, lol!.)
Silkies by George is not active. I emailed him and he said he's not breeding anymore. I asked if he knew anyone else in the ABQ area who was, and he said "No one raises Silkies, i killed the competition." Okay, then. I will assume that was a figure of speech...

Whoops! That link was wrong - here is the correct one. https://sites.google.com/site/theknottybirdcompany/home Look under "Deluxe Coop" and there are pix of the inside.
We bought this "Deluxe Coop" because it was the right size for our backyard, it is very sturdy, it is made by a woman in my county, and mostly because it's just gorgeous! With the added extension, we will be housing 5 layers in it and they will very rarely range in our yard due to our little...
Yay!!! Just brought home our first three chickies - a buff orpington named Sookie, a rhode island red named Bella, and a (hopefully) cuckoo marans named Hermione. They are 7 days old today and seem to be settling in just fine. Not cheeping too much, and found their water already. My dogs are...
