    Number one is what i call hay grass it grows in everything here in texas i grow my chicken there own grarden of edible to save on feed cost sunflowers milo oats wheat kale just about any thing i can grow in texas heat i grow for them and everyone eats pulled weeds and grass daily

    You sould also think about adding new stock every other year for your hens and if you just want eggs for eating you only need hens but if you want chicks every spring try find a broody breed for this reason and welcome to byc
