hi
how high off the ground are the perches? post a picture of the in side of the coop if you can. I had the same problems with my birds they would not roost. I made the roosts higher with a ramp they could walk up to get to them and still had to put them up on it every night for about 2 weeks...
I hate when local governments think they can do anything they want.
get a lawyer they will probably back off after one phone call.
after tour attorney reviews the situation call the local media to set up an interview with you and your lawyer.
don't sell eggs out of your front yard you can get in...
just got my first egg
yesterday there was a broken egg on the coop floor I think she laid it while on the roost.
this morning there was a nice brown egg in the nesting box.
I have 5 red sex link hens there are about 18 weeks old.
this is my first time raising chickens.
do you get mite, flees, and worms from your dog or cat? A lot of people have the wrong impression about chickens, everyone told me that they stink and are dirty. It is just not true my chickens don't stink. the coop is not stinky either do I clean it yes. If you keep any animal in a confined...
like some one said 2x4 with the 4 side up is the way to go it is better for there feet. they don't have to grasp it they can just sit and cover there feet with there feathers when it gets cold so they don't get frostbite on there toes.
I'm new to chickens but have done a lot of research and I thought you were not supposed to feed chickens raw potatoes or any citrus fruit. I also read once that if you feed them fruit it could cause them to stop laying eggs? not sure seams like every one here feeds them fruit.
I don't know that much about chickens but I believe that production red males and females are the same color. They should be separated in a production red pullet bin, as long they were sexed correctly and no one mixed them up in the bins you should be OK
where do you plan on getting them from ? hatchery ? tsc?
you could get sex links red or black
male are one color and females are different for example red sex link male chicks are yellow and females are red.
if they have a pullet bin where you are getting them from they would all be female...
