5 Easter Eggers
2 Jersey Giants or Black Australorp (still deciding)lol
1 Rhode Island Red
1 White Leghorn
1 Light Brahma
1 Buff Orphington
1 Barred Rock
1 Silver Laced Wyandotte
1 Golden Laced Wyandotte
They are 8-9 weeks old. Would that make a difference in the size of the comb on the leghorn?
I've never heard of a buckeye hen. I'll have to research that one. I don't remember it being on the list of hens offered from the hatchery I bought them from. :) Fun stuff.
Thanks.
Can anyone comment? I think we have it "kinda" figured out. LOL. Thanks in advance.

Awesome. Thanks much. I ordered a vary wide variety this year so I'm just trying to figure out what is what. Kids are "helping" and we are having fun with them.
I ordered quite a variety of chicks this year. They are now 8-9 weeks old. I can't remember if I ordered on Jersey Giant and one Australorp or two of the same. Is there a way to tell them apart. Here they both are. Thanks in advance.
I'm so sad. I feel like an awful mother to my chickens and my children. I have 11 year old hens. I purchased 10 babies this year. They were completely separate for awhile. Four days ago, I put them together in the coop, but sections apart. One of my babies got out of her section while I...
Hello! I began with chickens last year. We have 11 very healthy laying hens. LOVE them. We have 6 Isa Browns and 5 Barred Rocks. Fast forward to this year. I decided to add a few because I would really love some Easter Eggers. So, I added 4 Easter Eggers, 2 white leghorns, and 2 black...
I have added 8 new babies this year. Super excited. Most curious about the sex of my 4 easter eggers. Any thoughts? They are only 8 days old so I know it's way too early. Whatcha think? Any gut guesses?
Group shot.
Chick 1
Chick 2
Chick 3
Chick 4
I'm new to chickens. We have 11 hens and a rooster. I have one hen who has no feathers by her booty. It's red and looks swollen. Thoughts? She acts absolutely fine and I have not witnessed any of the other chickens picking on her? This is my first issue so I'm slightly freaked out. Thanks.
So far so good. The chickens seem to be settling in well. I clean the coop once a week. I shut the chickens in the outdoor portion while I rake out the inside and put down clean bedding. Then I rake the outdoor portion after. Now I'm ready for eggs. =)
