Sore booty

I'm new to chickens. We have 11 hens and a rooster. I have one hen who has no feathers by her booty. It's red and looks swollen. Thoughts? She acts absolutely fine and I have not witnessed any of the other chickens picking on her? This is my first issue so I'm slightly freaked out. Thanks.

Sounds like the rooster really likes her.

I have two hens that look like that because they are a favourite. They are groupies and hang by their many almost 24/7.

If you google Chicken Saddle, one of those will help her grow back feathers.

It's under her tail, not on her back. Could that still be from the rooster?

Check her for mites and lice also. Mites will be small reddish or tan colored bugs crawling in between the feathers on her skin.
Lice are clearish white and lay white dust like looking eggs on the tips of the feathers. Often found around the face and around the vent area.

Oh I didn't realize that's what you meant. She could have parasites, or she could just be molting.
