Just wanted to update. Ended up culling the poor little bird. He went down hill pretty fast...thanks for the response.
I don't post much here but I've learned his is THE site to go to if I have questions:)
Hey Ya'll:)
Having a bit of a dilemma...could use some advice. On the way to work this morning I came up on a polish rooster in the middle of a busy highway. (Only me, I mean really!) I stopped and picked him up. On inspection, he is very lethargic, possible broken wings, COVERED in tiny...
Yes, just drill through the metal to attach the dish to the posts. Ran an ad in the local wanted bulletin for free removal of BUD dishes, was hoping for a fiberglass dish but hey...this one was free so I won't complain. Finally got the other post for the door up today so hopefully soon I will be...
I called the local grocery store and asked about the buckets the icing in the bakery is shipped in. They give me as many as I want. They are nice and square, you can build a simple frame to keep them stable. Plus, they hose out so cleaning is a breeze.

Definitely look into the co-op, possibly a church nearby?
I tried the K12 program that was offered free through our public school system here in SC...and quit. The curriculum was fantastic, the public school system mandating 6 hours a day, etc was not. It honestly turned into 8-10 hours a day...
My birds eat absolutely everything. I've watched them pick a wasp off a bush and beat it on the ground, then swallow it. No ill effects and they've been doing it for years. Same thing with Black Widow Spiders. Awesome pest control! :)
Just a quick intro,
Had lots of chickens when I was a little girl, just got back to raising them recently due to all the bad stuff I keep hearing about our food lately.
I've had a RIR/WhiteRock mix rooster and two mutt hens for a few years now.
Just purchased what looks like a miniature army of...
