I have read in several blogs/posts that peafowl will like around 25 to 35 years in captivity. 1. How long do pea hens lay eggs (till they pass away) or at what age do they stop? 2. Do you purchase grown peahens because if they do stop laying how do you know whom to by and not to purchase? -

my peahens are driving me crazy! when are they going to lay? I go out everyday to give them a little treat and check their pen and no eggs. I don't care who they breed with I just want babies. am I just crazy or are they ever going to lay. and to answer your question, my 3 of my 4 peahens... -

It was an elderly couple selling off a lot of their stock. They stated they were both sick, unable to care for them being sick, and needing the money. I got the two in the smallest pen from them. They had other birds in bigger pens but not by much. The bigger kennels were around 4x8x4ish... -

I try not to judge to much but even I was shocked to see those two peas in that tiny pen and that was their home not for travel. I haven't seen a uniform round amount for peafowl. I see people say 4sq ft for chickens but nothing about pea. -

well call me crazy but I decided to wash them all to see what happens. I don't need any chicks but had the eggs. I sat 24 eggs this morning at 4 a.m. so 21 days and I am hoping for chicks. thanks- cray4en

so, I want to set my incubator again. we had a the power go out during my last hatch and it killed all my eggs but 2 hatched (53 set). the small problem is that it has been so wet here that some of my chickens are bringing in mud and a few of the eggs aren't so clean. I am going to try...- cray4en
