    Are these roosters?

I got these two mid-summer as pullers, and they did look it then. I guess today is the first time I've really looked closely at them again and I'm thinking.... Those are roosters! Can you guys confirm? Also, do they look like buff Cochins to you? I notice they don't have feathery feet.

    What will he look like?

What do y'all think the grey ameraucana will grow up to look like? He started out regular grey, and is developing those reddish-cold colours on his wings/shoulders. I am torn between two roosters and which one to keep.

    Are these both roosters?

I'm pretty sure they are - whitey has a big red comb and the grey has developing colours and tail feathers. And they squabble like this (but I've seen hens do that, too). But grey has a small pink comb, whitey has small tail feathers, and neither of them has spurs. Just want to be sure before I...

Can I put my goslings outside now?

Goslings are disgusting. I have three china goslings, about a month old. They are downy, just starting to get a few tail feathers. Can I put them out in the coop now with the chickens? The run is secure against predators and the coop is dry and insulated and draft free. I could possibly bring a...

    Water/warmth in the chicken coop

Clever!! The only thing I just realised though is that the light to the coop also turns on the spotlight on the back of the coop (outside of the coop)... ick... I don't really want to have all of those things turned on all the time. So I guess that idea is nixed.

    Water/warmth in the chicken coop

I have 13 hens and a rooster in my coop. The building itself is about 10 x 15, a nicely built, insulted shed. The coop itself is the back part, about 5 x 10, and is blocked off from the rest of the shed with a mesh/2x4 wall. The only parts that are not draft proof are the window in the coop area...

How long before fertile eggs look fertile?

I forgot to collect yesterday's eggs and today a hen is sitting on them. Are they still good to collect and eat or wll the veins and stuff have started to develop?

    Hen abandoned one chick

My experience hen sat on and hatched 7 eggs (one other chick died just out of the egg, and three eggs were not viable). The last chick to hatch was abandoned by the hen. She kicked it out halfway while the others were hatching, and I was about to huck it when I noticed the chick had broken...

More sexing - are my guesses right?

So I have been taking a close look at my 7 white chickens (most are chanteclers) and I think I am starting to get the hang of it. I am posted some pics with my guesses why I think what I do, and if you could let me know if I'm right or way off in left field that would be just awesome! This is...
