I was on a waiting list with Bev for 1 year, and she contacted me saying she had eggs, and I have to decide right then as she is leaving soon for England. I however ended up having to cancel my order at the last minute, as my last two hatches haven't! Sooo sad.
This wait was for wheaton...
I'm on day 20 and I have one pipped. It is a little phoenix. It has only zipped like 1//4 the way around, and it just hanging out. I wonder if it has dried out a bit? It has taken it 5 hours to get this far! I don't hear any other peeping, yet. (out of 28 potentially good ones).
Any way...
I'm on day 19 on a variety of 29 eggs. I have one little thing pipping, everybody else is quiet. (Except my 6 year old dd, she is crying for unknown reasons in the other room, sounds like nothing is really wrong though....)
The one pipping is a phoenix.
Been restless today...
Waiting, that's what I'm doing. I've been on line today for at least 2 hours, read tons of stuff on this forum. Only got in about 1 hour of school with the girls, I'm just too distracted to do homeschool! We have one pipping, it is the one that peeped when I was candling it last night. (I...
Wow, Jen,
Your cochins are beautiful! Your silkies are amazing too, but I'm more of a big chicken person, and those cochins are gorgeous! Are you having good fertility with their eggs?

here he is
I don't know if the pics show it, but one leg sticks straight out front, and the other one stays tucked underneath. Neither one seems to work right--when I touch the top of the right leg he cries.

Hi guys,
Well I had a successful hatch, 10 out of 10 fertile developing chicks hatched (8 were either infertile or didn't do much).
One of the ten was one that had a hard time hatching, now I can see that it is crippled! one club like foot, one whole leg affected. It's feet don't seem to...

quack pack
love it!
Are they getting their new pond totally "ducky"?
When you have a pond, is their cleaning involved, or is there a whole "eco system" that takes care of waste?
One more, although this thread is not supposed to be about ducks, I am passing the time, as I haven't seen...
Thanks Napa,
Good thinking. Actually I set them in the evening, so tomorrow at 6pm will be day 21.
What kind of ducks? I am enamored with them, just wondering if they would be as easy for my neighbor to look after when I am out of town.

Hi,
I am on day 20 of my first hatch!! I've seen 5 of the eggs wiggle, but there are 2 that consistently wiggle. I had a humidity prob yesterday, my probe doesn't measure humidity, so I finally realized that it was the digital reader that could measure humidity, after all night of over 81%...
Hi,
Day 17 is tomorrow, and I am going out with the "girlfriends" overnight. I read on one of the online sights that you should stop turning and raise the humidity on day 17?
Is that true or do you guys wait until day 18?
My humidity has been at about 50% the entire time, but my temps...
