Well, I'm just letting her go through what nature intended, the 21 days and see what happens. I just left her out and made sure she has been eating and drinking. She has one week left. Luckily the weather will be pretty nice for another week. I only hope the dangers of being outside will stay...
I had 6 roosters, culled 5. I thought I was keeping my friendliest hand raised, but when the rest were gone he got aggressive. He attacked me one day and that is the last time I have turned my back on him. He attacks again and he'll be in the stew pot too.
My friendliest is a Jersey Giant! I also have buffs, red production, barred rock, silver laced wyandotte, and silver laced sussex( which is also the loudest).
I have a pullet that just started laying last month. She was very irregular and just dropping eggs where ever she was at the time. My chickens are free range so I was constantly looking for her eggs. Then all of a sudden, she did not show up at night in the coop, was missing for two days then...
I have this light sussex chick, now about 3 months old. I know by the comb it looks like a roo, but it is not showing any signs of a roo. The comb and waddles are not very red and he hasn't tried to crow like the others. Whay do you think?
I have 5 adults hens that I feed layers feed, but I just introduced 6 12 week old pullets into the coop. My question is can they be fed the layer feed now even though they shouldn't start laying for another month? They are free range and will probably eat mostly out on the acreage.
I saw a thread the last week that had a video on sexing chicks. She was sexing them by their feathers at 1-2 days old. Does anyone remember who this was or can pass the video back to me. I can't remember if the double layer of feathers is the cock or pullet.
well, now her wry neck is head down between her legs instead of thrown over her back. I am continuing the vitamins. She does better immediately after then falls back into hung head. I will keep giving and hope it gets better. It is not contagious for the other chicks correct? I am just afraid...
Thanks everyone, I new the first was a roo, and maybe the last but the rest I thought were pullets. The grey is a JGxBR so I thought itwas just a little big but so was its mother.
I have these 5 week old chicks, I;m trying to decide which are roos. I already have two roos so I will have to decide who I'm keeping and who I'm getting rid of.
