    I want to add a black silkie rooster to my flock of lavenders. What do I need to look for in a black silkie? Would a black from a blue, black splash or a black from a paint line be the same as a bird from a black line? How would I know the difference?

    So update. I am over the top happy with the results of the growing chicks. The ALL now have Buff feathering around the neck and chest. I can not wait to breed them back to the lavender roos. 😍

    I dont but all the parents where yel Parent birds were all yellow with a little gray as chicks. Yes all lavenders.

    Question about chick color. I have a pen with lavender and Buff siklies. I know lavenders will have yellowish chicks and the calculator says lavender and Buff will be black (which I got 1 of both) but can anyone explain the other chicks that are gray and gray with a little buff leakage?

    So I got a hatch from this breeding. I'm so excited. I know the yellow us a lavender, I'm assuming the black is a split but are the others the gray or light black? And a couple have a little bit of Buff showing. I dont really know genetic well so would someone be willing to explain a little?
