yay! thank god! I'd hate to get attached only to find out she's a rooster. Thanks for your opinions - I feel more confident in your guesses than the farmer's opinion.
Anyone want to make a guess as to its sex??? I had to trade my rooster since my neighbors were complaining. The poultry farm gave me a silkie which they promised was a hen. Just wanted to get your opinions! Thanks
I have the SAME problem! i had to rehome a rooster which had been paired with my hen for about 6 months. I brought back a silkie hen to be her buddy, and now the silkie is crouched in the corner of its pen and doesn't really eat much. The orginal hen is also acting a bit depressed. I'd love...
I live in Northern NJ. The chicken diapers seem like a GREAT idea! Maybe I can keep my BO inside during the winter and get her some buddies come spring. Thanks for the tip!
I'll try to trade the EE for a pullet when I go to the farm. My only concern is that I want the replacement EE to be socialized. I have a feeling that the chickens on this farm (since they're being raised for food) haven't really been exposed to people too much.
Ignore me if the above post...
I have a Buff Orpington and an EE - both around 11 weeks. They were both sold to me as females. Unfortunately, the EE has started to crow! I live in a suburban area and my neighbors are pretty unhappy. I have to bring the EE back to the farm I bought it from.
Problem is: Will the Buff...
I finally figured out that I have a Buff Orpington chick but I can't figure out the 2nd one despite looking at photos all over this forum! Any help or guess would be appreciated! Thanks!
