    5 buff orpingtons -southern MA

They are about 2 yrs old. Also someone asked where I got them from (pm'd me). I had got them as pullets from someone off craigslist. That person got them from a hatchery as chicks to raise with his kids. Mcmurray I think was the hatchery. The reason I am downsizing is because I feel they are a...

How long should I wait to Euthanize?

I'm so sorry. I feel your pain.....I went through something similar with a chicken that was ill and seemed to perk up then fall ill again. I hated to euthanize her if she could potentially recover. I went about a month with her being separated from the others. Sadly she would just sit there. She...

White Silkie Roo (young) - Southern Massachusetts

I have a beautiful white silkie rooster that I got when I adopted two females. The lady I got him from I think accidentally gave me one of her young chicks. He was bigger than the other babies she had- which I now know is because he is a rooster. Which is why he was mistaken for an adult female...

Is the "MOS" in Poulin Grains Feed still a mystery?

Did you ever find out any more info on this???? I'm curious as well. I went into a new grain store today and spoke with a wonderful woman who spoke very highly of this feed. I of course researched it after leaving, so didn't really get to ask any questions.....but I have the same question you...

Tail Down, Feather Loss and laying down a lot

I guess I answered my own question :( She is no longer suffering. I selfishly thought I could get her better and was only prolonging her pain. My husband did the deed and she went quickly.....its so hard but was the right thing to do....

    chickens beginning to get angry?

It definitely could be the molt. They can lose quite a few feathers that you would think you lost a chicken. Have you seen that hen getting picked on at all? Do you have a picture?
