okay, i just went out there and caught Polly (the rooster I shall now call Pollo) was picking on one of my hens while the other one squwaked in the corner. I separated them... :-/
So I just discovered my hen is crowing in the morning and recently her tail feather have been getting bigger. Crap. So now what? I have a rooster and he is sleeping with my other two hens at night and mingling all day. Is this okay? I didn't want a rooster. I haven't gotten any eggs yet...
the girls are 7 1/2 months (blue laced red wyandotte and white langshan) and 6 1/2 months old (barred rocks) and they are still not laying. They are molting a little so I wonder if the conditions are not right. They may have a slight draft on them at night but no lower that 60 degrees outside...
I bought this pullet a few weeks ago and not sure if she's really a she. Any help? Also, do the feather on her rear look normal and healthy? I'm a first time chicken owner and this supposed Langshan looks a lot different than my Wyandotte and BR.
