They can't get to them because of the fence I've put diwn the middle of the run, but I think I may need to put smaller mesh on top. I let them out into the garden in turn as well which is working ok so far.
Hi everyone, I have two white campbell drakes just around a year old. We were sold them as females and they settled in with our 3 hens. ( I've had hens for 15 years) We soon worked out they were boys as they grew, but decided to keep and love them anyway. All was good until late April, when one...

I use Aubiose horse bedding which is fantastic! It's made from hemp. Very lightweight, composts really quickly and absorbs moisture but dries out fast. Costs more than shavings but lasts longer and the girls won't eat it.
I forgot this one yesterday!
Thanks for your help - it is interesting about the black and red two, as they look the same to me, how do you know the difference? I've only had Brahma chicks before and they turned out to be girls
Hi, thanks, I'm trying to add more pics that I've just taken, but struggling to do it on my phone! They are 5 weeks old now, and two have muffs and I would say 3 do have pea combs. I git them from ebay lists as Easter Eggers, and all the eggs were shades of green or turquoise. Will keep trying...
Hi all, please can anyone give help sexing these EE chicks? Thanks! They are two weeks old here, I will add some more recent pics later, if I can get them to stay still!
I bought 6 brahma eggs for £5, and 2 hatched - one is blue, one splash and are both now a year old. Considering I paid £35 each for my 2 dark Brahmas, I think that's a pretty good investment! I hatched them with one of my darks when she went broody.
Hi, thanks for that Peepsicle, I am alread using that - that's what I meant be DE - saves typing diatomacious all the time! lol Works in the coop and other chucks, just not helping much on this one. Maybe it's because she's old? 41/2 old for a hybrid I think.
Hi all, I have a little problem with poultry louse at the moment and would appreciate a little advice. I notice a few lice and eggs around the vents of one of my (4) Brahmas and Gingenut Range, which I treated with DE. It cleared up fine on the Brahma - she had pulled some feathers out and...
Hi everyone, I have 2 8 weel old blue b
Brahma chicks that are doing really well. However, I noticed today that one of them has scratched her eye, presumably on a twig or similar, but maybe a peck. The eye is clear, but watery; I can see a small scratch on the cornea and the lower lid is a tiny...
Here are some picks of the chicks at 71/2 weeks now, my guess is both girls now.
This is the Thursday chick, now re-named Fester!
Wednesday is staying Wednesday, and pretty sure she is a blue splash, she has a dotting of blue feathers with a lavender tint all over, just lovely!
My husband just told me this, so I thought I'd start a thread and see if anyone knew any more?
Q: which bird knows all the best jokes?
A: a comedi-hen!
yes, yes, it's awful I know! so can anyone do any better?
Thank you! I never quite belived any would actually hatch, but Misery did her job well!
Misery's on the left, Dolores on right. These 2 are about a year and a quarter old now.
