what breed of turkey do I have

The photo is a little bit dark, but the black ones look like a Bronze, and the white one looks like Royal Palm

    Broad Breasted Bronze went broody?

Duck eggs are usually pretty thick shelled, wouldn't worry too much about them breaking. But yes she should hatch them.

    Pine Shavings or Straw

I use just pine shavings. Works pretty well. Cedar shavings also work good to keep odors down.

    Sand ??

DRY sand is very handy to have, easy to clean, and is very sanitary. Just stir it around everyday. Liquids do evaporate quickly in sand. Sand will clump though, if it gets excessively wet. Change it out once a month, depending on how many chicks/poults you have.

    Brooder in Finished Basement

Yes, the dander/fluff will contaminate your basement, dust will be all over everything. We had a dehumidifier in our basement and the filter was clogged everyday after cleaning it. If you have some kind of shed, I would recommend using it.

    What do you think?

I am raising 30 Narrangansetts this year . Some of them are around 5 months and I should say that the one you have should definitely be a female. If you have other turkeys with it, it should strut or gobble.

Your favoritve turkey breed/variety, or any advise :)

I have Narragansetts, supposed to be calm birds at maturity. They are supposed to be experts at breeding and raising their own young. They are a joy to raise.

Whew! you said it, having trouble selling my birds. Advertising them on Craigslist. I live in Tennessee and the trouble with alot of people here is that they could care less what their eating, their just looking at price tags.

FREE chicken coop plan (nice one too) on the Purina Mills Website

I have been building this design and am almost finished. I am working on putting the nest box together. I have cut all the pieces to the design dimensions and when I started trying to put the box together, the pieces weren't making a box without air gaps; no matter how you put it together. Has...
