I have sold 16 turkeys this year. Five are in the freezer. That means my DH and I have to process 11 Turkeys next Friday and Saturday:eek:. At least the good lord gave us Sunday to rest. Anyone else out there this crazy? How many are yall doing?

Whew! you said it, having trouble selling my birds. Advertising them on Craigslist. I live in Tennessee and the trouble with alot of people here is that they could care less what their eating, their just looking at price tags.

Demographics are definitely interesting. Folks up on the mountain where I live won't buy a $100.00 turkey, but in town they are happy to buy fresh turkey at $4.50 a pound. What do you charge in Tennessee?

I've never found dropping price helps sell. I found a pretty good market where I work. That with repeat buyers and word of mouth has sold me out the past three years. I Hope you do OK. It's great when you can make back the cost of feed at least

$8.50 per lb. here in British Columbia is what i charge.
I have a waiting list for birds this year.
I live in an area where there is lots of athletic people and organic small farms are very popular.

Grass fed rib-eye beef steaks sell for 14.99 a lb.
If people want good meat they will pay.
Auction house beef steers are selling for 2.50 per lb live hoof weight.

If people want wall mart crap then let them exchange their future health for today's money.
They are not your customers.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We just did 7 turkeys. Sold a few to customers the rest went into the freezer
