This is what I did, and it works like a charm. My heat lamp is directly over a waterer, several feet from the roosts.

Also, I built a couple of the 4 inch PVC feeders that I attached to my run fence. They work great, and hold at least a weeks worth of feed at a time. I just give them a shake when I go out and it fills the bottom back up.

If you are in an area that freezes like me, I would put an electric water heater inside the building for the winter. I have one inside, and two outside, but during the winter the outside ones are a lost cause...I think your plans sound great. My perches are 18-24 inches off the ground, but you...

Welcome, I know what you mean, my favorite pastime in the summer is to sit a chair outside my coop and enjoy an afternoon beer while watching my chickens. Sometimes I sit there for hours...
