For what it is worth, I have tried 3 different organic feeds, and had terrible luck with all of them. I don't know why, but egg quality and production were almost nonexistent. We switched to the Hearty Hen 18% by Nutrena. It is the only thing we can get in the area with higher protein layer...

I have a lonely blue orp hen who lost her mate, so that's what made me look. But driving from eastern central TN to WI to get a rooster, I might be sleeping with them by the time I got back home because I would be in deep doodoo!

Hmmmmm. Several of my baby poults have wings sticking out in a direction I don't think they should be! They seem to be doing okay though, active and eating and drinking. Will they grow up ok?

OK, thank you! These were really clear, with no color at all which is why I found it odd. Only a couple had any color to them, which i found more normal. However, the 13 of them all seem to have settled in now and are eating and drinking, so fingers crossed they continue to do well!!

I just picked them up from the post office this morning. So they haven't eaten a lot of anything yet, although the marble trick helped a lot. Right now I have 28% starter.

Hello, I just received my day old (now 3 days old?) turkeys. 3 of them didn't make it. Most of them have pure liquid poops. I have had chickens for over 30 yrs, but this is my first time venturing into turkeys. Are the poops normal for poults so young? Could they have worms / bacterial /...

I've had rattlesnake too, pretty good, but no, we did not eat this one. Hubby at the time didn't think they were really edible, but we later found out they are. The fuzzy part on the back of the hat is from one of my squirrel tails.
