Pekin Drake in Central CO needs new home

Born in March 2018, started out fine, but too aggressive with my females. Nice and healthy, beautiful all white Pekin Drake. Should be a nice addition to a larger flock. We only have a few ducks.

    Geese

I have a similar goose, and was told she is a Grey Goose. (this was confirmed in my poultry book as well) Do you just have the one? I am looking for a partner for mine, as I think she wold be happier having a goose mate. She lives with our chickens now...

    What Went Wrong? *Eggtopsy* *Graphic*

UPDATE I opened one and it looked like it died awhile ago - like halfway through. I am such a weenie I can't bring myself to open any more. It is really hard to do this at this altitude, I never had any problems when I lived at sea level...

    What Went Wrong? *Eggtopsy* *Graphic*

I am in CO also at 7500 ft. I used local eggs from my own hens. Started with 42, and discarded 14 on day 14 due to not fertile. Most of the others looked good when candled. I have a Little Giant and ran it at 100degrees F, and at 40-45% humidity since the last time I tried with the dry...

Incubating Day Count, No such thing as a silly question right?

Like all things in nature, it is not exact science Ben. I just mark the calendar on the date I start the incubating process, then estimate 21 days till hatch. Sometimes they hatch on day 21, sometimes day 22 or day 23. I have a brooder hen now that started sitting on eggs about a week ago - so I...

    frozen feet? please help

Update on my Roo. He is acting like his feet don't bother him, even though he hobbles around. The toes are really dead and don't move or curl at all. His brother and he are both together and they seem to really like that. - I know I should euthanize but will wait to see what happens to the...

    frozen feet? please help

Yes I am trying to deal with that prospect. His brother is very bonded to him that is the only reason I am hesitant. They really stick together - his brother even protects him from the others. He still is able to get around somehow...I just wanted to post pix to the forum for educational...

    frozen feet? please help

Good point -The stress in my case was due that they were new to the flock and probably did not feel at home to roost with the rest of them (and keep warm that way). They were on the floor - which has since been lined with more wood chips....

    frozen feet? please help

I also have a rooster that got frozen feet - We had severe weather (-10) about 2 weeks ago and they were frozen solid and swollen to 3 x their normal size. I brought him inside to warm up and then put his brother with him. Since that time, his toes are all black and basically dead. They don't...

PLEASE help - is this a disease that anyone has seen before???????? Is this Marek's?

My chick seems almost paralyzed - no control over her legs or wings. Eats just fine, is alert, but has no muscles. Her legs are bent so her feet are by her neck. She rolls over on her back as she is unable to stay on her belly. I have to hold her to feed her. She came from McMurrays (then the...

Sorry this is not an answer to your post, but I need to know something. Where can I find the classic symptoms of Mareks so I can see if that is what my chick has??

    Dead Buff Orpington

We had a year old rooster die right in front of me, if I had not seen it I would never have known how he died. Some kids were in our pen trying to pick up a hen, they were all running around in a circle (including the roo) and then all of a sudden he fell over, convulsed and died. I think the...

just curious - why would you even use eggs that had been refrigerated? I thought that stopped them from developing.
