Need help with a sick Pekin duck

Donnie didn't make the night. We just buried him. I really thought he'd be okay. He was our first duck. He's the one in my avatar. He was so wonderful. We're really going to miss him. Thank you so much for all your help. It means a lot to us. I take comfort in that your long...

Need help with a sick Pekin duck

Thanks for responding! Could you clarify what you mean by oregano? We gave him electrolytes in his water. The package called for 3 tablets for a quart of water. After leaving the water with him for a few hours, we checked on him and he was shaking and trembling. I was afraid he had maybe...

Need help with a sick Pekin duck

I have an 8 month old male, Pekin duck (Donnie) who has been acting sick for the past two weeks. It began around Dec. 28th. He started displaying listlessness and started separating himself from the other water fowl. His appetite started to decrease, and he would stumble every once in a while...

Need Medical Advice!! My Duckling lost the ability to balance and can no longer stand.

No I haven't. That's a wonderful story! We've made a little hammock for him already. Perhaps when he's big, if he still can't walk we'll make something like what Lemon has. I don't know if he'll ever be able to walk right, but he's getting better every day. His eyes are much more open...

Duckling can no longer balance normally.

Good advice! I found the forum dedicated to the ducks and was able to get some advice at the duck forum (imagine that). I have some updates on the situation there too...

Need Medical Advice!! My Duckling lost the ability to balance and can no longer stand.

Here's an update. He's standing a little better today, but still not walking. He's starting to sit more like a duck too! His head is much bushier than his sibling's. Maybe it is related.

Need Medical Advice!! My Duckling lost the ability to balance and can no longer stand.

Peppie is very squirmy, which is good. His balance still isn't very good, but when my girlfriend left (I was in charge of watching him), he was almost walking as he tried to look for her. He's learned to use the side of the cage to help him stand. He looks kinda like a kiwi when he does this...

Need Medical Advice!! My Duckling lost the ability to balance and can no longer stand.

Thank you for your advice Lydia! How do I determine how much niacin to give him? I don't want to give him too much. My girlfriend is running out to get some. Also, greetings from Raleigh! The person who sold us Peppie gave us some duckling food with him. Perhaps it wasn't really for...

Need Medical Advice!! My Duckling lost the ability to balance and can no longer stand.

I have a three and a half week white crested pekin duck named Peppie. About five days ago he started stumbling when he walked. Three days ago he could hardly keep his balance at all and would tumble over onto his back and he could not get up. He was still eating and drinking. In the past...

I hate to be a pest by bumping this, but I really need some help here. I'm really worried about Peppie, and any advice I can get would in very helpful.
