So I guess it would be worth a try, right? They free range so they have plenty of room. If it gets too rough, then I have an extra rooster and got no idea what to do haha xD is there any way to reduce aggression when I introduce them?
I was wondering if a rooster remembers the flock it has been with before...I got a rooster about 2 months ago and he has been awesome and no trouble but where I got him from there were 3 OTHER roosters and they all lived okay I guess. Two of them were bantams such as mine and the other was a big...
Tomorrow morning I will go count the toes, thought all chickens had the same amount of toes? lol. I like him though, he always seems not afraid of anything. Usually when I get new chickens, they are always a bit shy but he never was. The funny thing though is when he try to go toe to toe with my...
Those sound like some fancy breeds hes definitely tiny though. The hens are all about the same size as him or bigger haha. Where I bought him at, they had 2 other roosters and both older but still just as good looking! One exactly like this one and the other was like a white/blonde everywhere...
Thanks!
Yeah he does, plenty of feathers on his leg! He's still young also, the spiky thing on his leg (spurs?) is still small, when I got him they were like little bumbs.
Been a while since I have been here but I was looking at my rooster and i was wondering if he is an old english bantam or some old english mix . I just thought it would be cool if he is because I bought him off the side of the road for like 5 bucks lol, thanks!
I have a hen that made some weird noise and this woman said that when a hen sounds like a rooster, it means my wife/husband is going to die. She literally chased it with a machete! The worst part is, im not even married -_- atleast the hen lived though lol.
You are probably right about it being mixed though because i did see the pictures of game birds lol. And i have 3 turkeys(1 male, 2 females) but my guinea decided he likes turkeys! Big problem that i have to fix lol but they are fun, my male is just one big showoff, he goes around just strutting...
Ok thanks, ill try that! Hope he starts liking the new females btw does this happen a lot? a guinea staying with a turkey? and can they actually make the eggs the turkey lay fertile? Just wondering lol
I was thinking about this as well since i am going to make a new coop for my chickens and was wondering if beach sand would be acceptable cause i live in front of the beach. Since everyone who has a chicken near me(which is just about everyone lol) has never used sand for a chicken coop, hope...
Lol probably. He takes his chickens seriously though, I bought him some fruit and we were talking about chickens(I had chickens but then I moved them to another land, then got ticks!) and how i was going to get some chickens to get rid of that infestation and he decided to give me an egg lol. So...
So i got a pair of guineas a while ago when i bought my pair of geese and it turned out to be 2 males! One of the males has one bad eye so i guess thats what makes him lazy and laid back lol but the other one is one feisty little guy! He was always a bit grumpy ever since the first day(probably...
I just got my first quails a few days ago (tibetan and pharaoh coturnix) they are great birds! Im new to them but i will tell you that you wont be disappointed with them lol! What i will tell you that i learned from here is that a male should have 2-3 females but thats with a coturnix, idk about...
I guess that makes sense. I got her as an egg from someone who fights chickens(im in central america, its happens alot) he said it was a "gift"? lol but i took it anyways. Atleast she wont be in a bad enviroment here! Btw, isnt a serama a bantam breed? Though they are some good looking chicken...
if shes 6 months, does that mean she still needs to grow her legs? or is she going to be a short legged game bird forever lol. i dont mind, i keep them as pets but just wondering. thanks :)
