I didn't realize that the shipping would cost more than the chicks themselves -.- I guess im not ordering them... so is there a cheaper way of either ordering chicks or getting chicks?
I am ordering some chickens from "My Pet Chicken" and i want to breed black australorps. If i order a hen and rooster in the same order, will they be okay to breed? or will they have genetic problems????????
thanks
i like the idea behind it but dont want to buy supplies haha... i think im just gonna put cardboard covering three of the four walls of an aquarium i already have
yes, vail is very rural, however there are some subdivisions and i live right in the middle of one, which makes it tough for predators to get to me. where i am moving will be on an acre of land on the border of a trailer park, where the whole other side of the property has dessert for a couple...
Mine stopped laying a few months ago, i think she was trying to be a rooster cause she crows each morning, just not as loud as a rooster. but she started laying again, so i can live with crowing
different breeds grow at different rates. i wouldnt worry about it, i have raised a few flocks of mismatched hens with one type of feed and never had problems.
hi! i live in an urban neighborhood, and have a small flock, I have never had trouble with predators, but i will soon move to a dessert/trailer park area. im guessing there will be coyotes, hawks, possibly raccoons, owls, and bobcats...........
Any suggestions???
My hens didnt find the nipples for a while but if you force the chickens beak on the nipple so that water comes out, it learns that the nipple is a source of water.
