    I am ordering some chickens from "My Pet Chicken" and i want to breed black australorps. If i order a hen and rooster in the same order, will they be okay to breed? or will they have genetic problems???????? thanks

    yes, vail is very rural, however there are some subdivisions and i live right in the middle of one, which makes it tough for predators to get to me. where i am moving will be on an acre of land on the border of a trailer park, where the whole other side of the property has dessert for a couple...

    Mine stopped laying a few months ago, i think she was trying to be a rooster cause she crows each morning, just not as loud as a rooster. but she started laying again, so i can live with crowing

    different breeds grow at different rates. i wouldnt worry about it, i have raised a few flocks of mismatched hens with one type of feed and never had problems.

    hi! i live in an urban neighborhood, and have a small flock, I have never had trouble with predators, but i will soon move to a dessert/trailer park area. im guessing there will be coyotes, hawks, possibly raccoons, owls, and bobcats........... Any suggestions???

    My hens didnt find the nipples for a while but if you force the chickens beak on the nipple so that water comes out, it learns that the nipple is a source of water.
