    My cochin banties were sitting on the eggs like they're supposed too. 2 of the eggs hatched today! My normal sized chickens just laid in the dirt, being lazy. Didn't bother to lay any eggs.....Break day.

    Can baby chick be separated from the hen?

    Just today, one of the eggs that my hen was brooding hatched! Is it alright to separate it from the hen (put it in a box with a heat lamp)? I'm just worried it'll get hurt because 2 other of my hens like to sit in the nest box that the brooding hen sits on. Also, it can't get out of the nest...
