Hey all! Been a while since I've posted on here... going crazy at home and mostly because of an anticipated wee one in the near future (human! Not chicken!).
But, I do have some wee chickens on the way, as well!
Here's the situation... I have a great buff Orpington hen, super tiny for her...
It is very hard to tell with mix breeds, but if he/she is showing such little feathering after 10 days of age, my money would be on you having a wee rooster there.
Got some more pictures of some of my mixed breeds!
First two are of Cinder, my black copper marans x easter egger roo!
Next up us an unnamed little gal who is a mash-up of brown leghorn, ameraucana, and easter egger.
And lastly we have Hob, a white leghorn, easter egger roo with...
Thank you for your kind words, everyone. I'll have one less waterer and feeder to take care of in the morning, but I'll be sad about it all the same. I am quite glad for the time I did have with the "little" guy and I do hope he's somewhere better. He was definitely an interesting, lovable, and...
Hi everyone.
Sausage passed away around 3:00 pm. I returned home from work and went about my usual routine of checking on my animals. I saw him lying on his side in his hut, with this head propped up in the corner. Fearing the worst (and rightfully so) I gently brought him out into the grass...
Haha, thanks. I actually have some rabbit pellets I bought recently and no longer have a rabbit to feed them to. I was toying with adding them into the chicken feed.
I will get some updated pictures for everyone. He is absolutely enormous, but his belly is a bit of a mess. I've been trying to...
Hi Ederob! Unfortunately, I can't afford to take free requests and I have quite a lot on my plate at the moment. Illustrating is my job and if I don't get paid, I can't pay my bills or feed my animals, chickens included! I hope you'll understand!
Those horses are quite adorable, though. :)...
Hi everyone! Sausage seems to be doing well. He is beefing up quite a bit still, and does rest on his breast a lot. Even trying to keep his bedding clean and making sure he runs around out on the nice green grass he's still kind of mucky underneath. Poor guy. He has been getting a lot of...
Thank you Lightchick!
Cutechick53: I'm not a professional photographer, but I do have a (second-hand) professional camera. I'm also an illustrator and painter by trade, and having an understanding of composition from that really does help in getting nice photos. Plus, I take tons and tons and...
Thank you Mountain Peeps!! Also, wow! Chicken Picture of the Week! Ahh! :D :D :D Flourbum would be preening with delight were she still around. :3 Thanks!
I've got another serious problem.
About a week into treating the chick that was attacked with Duramycin-10, all of the chicks developed a sudden Cocci issue! I stopped treatment on the wounded chick so that she could be placed back with the others (she got the cocci too) and began treating...
Crazyfeathers, I do have some, though they are scattered all over various SD cards and on my computer... I will try to find some good before and afters, though! We're still doing some stuff with the house that wasn't necessary to complete before we could move in, like put a new bathroom in the...

Hi all! If I got into a huge amount of detail about my chicken-keeping experience up until now I'd have a shelf full of books. I'll get it short so I can get into the fun stuff; the pictures and the stories about my...
