Oh yes, that was his name. Tony. He does only have whites, I since found out. I have sent an e-mail to George Piers. Just waiting for a reply. Thanks for all the help!
I forgot to update this. We decided to build a cooler bator. The temp in the aquarium wouldn't stay close enough. But, everything is a go, and expecting chicks on the 15th!
I am trying to hatch out some Brahmas right now. But, I should be able to try and hatch Sebrights in April. I am in the Digby area. Where are you located?
I set my eggs in the homemade bator on 2/22. Temp 100F Humidity between 30-45% We set 10 eggs, but at day 7 we had to remove 4. They weren't fertilized. So, now we are hoping all goes well. We are going to set another batch on 3/8.
I am looking for Black Jersey Giants. I can't seem to find anyone near me that has them. I live in Nova Scotia. I have Golden Sebrights, bantam Buff Brahmas, and Australorps.
Hi! I'm also from Nova Scotia. Digby area. We had a rooster like him when I was a kid. He was a cross between a leghorn, and something else.
Welcome to the group!
Oh wow! Good luck to you. I am hatching my own. I have 2 from today, and hopefully I can get at least one a day for the next few days. Then, I can start them Thursday if all goes well.
Ok good. Tomorrow, I shall plug it in, and leave it for 24 hrs. Gosh, I hope I got it. I read to many threads on here from people having problems. I am nervous. LOL
I built an incubator from a 10 gallon fish tank. I have it set up with a water heater thermostat, computer fan, and a 60 watt bulb. The thing is, I dunno if it's dumb luck, but my temp in my dummy egg (blown egg filled with gel) is staying at 99F, and the digital thermometer stays at 101.3...
Thanks for the reply. Steve is a very nice bird. Calm, and gets along great with the others. I was hoping she was a she! I had 3, but this is the only one that made it. I don't know anything about this breed, so I am off to do some reading.
Oh thanks! That makes sense. The place that she came from does sell those chicks as well. My father bought them for me, and he thought they were silver penciled rocks, but he couldn't remember what the lady at the hatchery said.
Hello from Nova Scotia!
I have a small flock of Bantams right now. 6 Sebrights, a pair of Buff Brahmas, and an unknown. I have read a ton of very useful info here so far. I look forward to getting to know you all!
