Ordered. Not yet arrived. Look like canker to you?
BTW zoologix.com said they could perform testing but I will have to tell them what pathogen(s) I want them to test for.
I just posted some updated pics of what's in Gilly's mouth if you guys want to take a look? It's on page 3 of the original thread I posted.

To be honest, I'm a bit terrified of the Acidified Copper Sulfate. It arrived today and aside from being bright blue, it looks way too much like the chemicals that go into a swimming pool. The thought of that going down anyone's throat has caused me to pause on that for now.
It may be too...
Thanks for the reply and many thanks for the metal tip. Their water is in a stainless steel bowl and I would not have known this is not okay. What would happen?
So far I have been trying Thyme oil.
My original post is here...
Can anyone here advise on dosage please for the Acidified Copper Sulfate? The directions are for 256 gallons of water which doesn't help.
I have one chicken who I am currently treating for canker sores and wanted to try the copper sulfate.
I appreciate any direction re dosage.
Thanks!
Gilly already had avian pox so I don't think the dry pox would come back, right?
Ok, thank you for the info.
Will be trying the thyme oil first. If no results will move on to the Genetian Violet. I may do both of these in conjunction with the Acidified Copper Sulfate in the water source...
Okay so how do we rule out one vs the other?
Gilly was the only survivor of my flock who were met with avian pox about 2 years ago.
None of the others had wet pox. Just the dry pox.
I am inclined to treat with thyme (administered orally showed to be as effective as metronidazole according to...
Mosquitos are always a problem here in Los Angeles.
If it IS wet pox there must be something I can do. I can't just allow it to take her over & eventually die from.
I wouldn't say it's grown "lately". But if I push it off with a q-tip, it's a bit crazy how quickly it returns in the exact same spot.
To be fair, I haven't put my nose up close to her beak to make a conclusive call on the smell. If it's so bad that I would be able to smell it when she's...
No smell.
The one I removed and in the pic I posted was a bit further down in her throat. I will get a pic of the one inside the side of her mouth later today and post.
Thanks for the help!
Thanks!!
I actually found this article:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/canker-sores.1186445/#post-18737809
which had a link to this page: http://www.poultrydvm.com/condition/canker
which I believe confirms your diagnosis. It describes it exactly and I believe the image on that...
My Salmon faverolle has had this yellow like growth inside the side of her mouth. If I rub it off with a q-tip, the area bleeds for a bit and days later, it comes back.
The pic here was a bit further down her throat. I was able to pull it off with a q-tip.
It has a rubber like feel to it...
