That is peculiar my Roos do the same thing he either wants to breed with them or boss them around but my older roo doesnt attack i have tried to stop it but it only happens once in a while with my young roo
Maybe you would like to try out black broilers or red broilers they are more active so they wont get heart attack or would you like a dual purpose like Buff Orpington
I think that there is something wrong with your settings, because when I post in something nothing happens nothing subscribes or maybe it is just a glitch
Putting an egg in the egg box does not work.when a hen does get broody though you have to wait 21 days or 3 weeks or more.what kind of breed is your hen and how old is she, also when the eggs hatch, you could leave the hen and the chicks with your other flock, but if the rest of your flock starts...
When I ordered chicks I only got 10 but it said SOLD OUT on March the 10th and also said when i finished ordering them it said with some other info that in Two to Three days it was gonna come I'm confused Check IDEAL Hatchery for Buff Orpingtons...
If you have some other chicks in that brooder then there is a possibility that some of them are poking her "butt" because she is younger/weaker but it could be something else.
Maybe there are some people selling Silkies in Maryland in the forum,Buy~Sell~Trade or just one of the hatcheries,i have the Ideal hatchery near my house in Texas. Craigslist but sometimes it has good results.
Usually when a hens saddle starts losing a lot of feathers it means its being over mated, but I'm not %100 sure.
Can you post some pictures though to see how bad it is.
