Best birds for meat

Wanting to start a meat flock. Besides cornish, what is a good breed for meat?

Maybe you would like to try out black broilers or red broilers they are more active so they wont get heart attack or would you like a dual purpose like Buff Orpington

Pekins and Appleyards are good for meat production in a self-sustaining flock. None of the other turkeys are as good as the Broad breasted Whites, but BBW's are not self sustaining. Still, just about any breed of turkey except the royal palm, which are mostly ornamental.

Cortinix quail are excellent.

Would love to keep turkey, husband won't let me . Thinking going dual purpose chicken in the spring.

I've done Freedom Rangers and X-rocks. I started with x-rocks, then got disgusted and went to Freedom Rangers, then was frustrated and am now back to x-rocks, but with a better plan to keep them cleaner.

In my opinion, x-rocks are best...
