For those wondering how to boil the eggs and have them peel easier.
Place eggs in a pot with about 1/4 inch water covering them, add 2 table spoons of vinegar. (works for about a dozen eggs)
Bring the water to a boil with the eggs in it, after it reaches boiling turn heat off, cover the pot...
I just figured I'd start a thread where everyone shares their low cost solutions for various chicken issues.
My first major low cost solution was when I bought my house it had a small 11'x11' area fenced off with an old Dog House. Well that dog house with some renovations became my chicken...
I'm fairly new to chickens, been having my flock for about a year. I have what I think is a Dorking silver-grey rooster, 2 Plymouth rocks, and 4 golden buffs (one is sitting on a clutch). I love this site, found it with google. I'm planing on doing a thread about Low budget solutions for chickens.
