Very true - I'm just in shock to be honest. They adored each other, quite often I found them asleep together in the sun cuddled up. I wish I knew what happened - there was no noise no sounds nothing, and they were right outside the open window I was sitting at (but had the roller shutters down)

Yesterday I was given 2 week old chicken, hoping for hens, and I have no idea what breed they are. How soon can you tell? At the moment one is just pure black and the other a honey colour, no other markings or different coloured feathers etc.
