My dog accidentally killed my chicken.

Very true - I'm just in shock to be honest. They adored each other, quite often I found them asleep together in the sun cuddled up. I wish I knew what happened - there was no noise no sounds nothing, and they were right outside the open window I was sitting at (but had the roller shutters down)

Thank you, I am blessed that my life thus far has been rough but okay.

My dog accidentally killed my chicken.

She is usually really good, she normally just watches and follows and doesn't actually try to move them places but I have just had an operation & haven't been able to walk her every morning so I think she is maybe just bored at the moment. The horses are a different story though but I want her...

My dog accidentally killed my chicken.

Not really much to say. Just feeling very sad & everyone keeps saying "she was JUST a chicken" or "did you have chicken for dinner then?" so tasteless...... Lump on neck?

It doesn't feel like a crop, there's def no food in there & it is always there regardless of whether they've just eaten or not.... Unless it's just a deformed crop of some sort, I have another chick from same batch of eggs and that one doesn't have it, I can feel her crop

    Lump on neck?

Have just had a better look, it seems to be an air filled bubble of some sort, isn't tender to touch, eating/drinking/scratching and chirping fine.

    Lump on neck?

I'm new to chickens and this lump alarms me... Any ideas? It sits to the right of the neck, I'm assuming they have a storage like baby birds do? But this seems odd compared to my other baby chick...... :(

What age can you tell your chickens breed?

This is the only picture I have at the moment, I know it's not very good ha ha will take some more in a few weeks when they develop a bit more. I am unsure where they are from, my partners fathers bestfriend (that was a mouthful) hatched them in an incubator at a preschool to show children, I...

What age can you tell your chickens breed?

Yesterday I was given 2 week old chicken, hoping for hens, and I have no idea what breed they are. How soon can you tell? At the moment one is just pure black and the other a honey colour, no other markings or different coloured feathers etc. I'm new to chickens :)
