Hi there My little Cloe had layed her first egg on Thursday, Friday and Saturday last week, now for the last 24 hrs she hasn't layed anything. Should I be concerned> and is this normal when she first starts to lay? She's her normal active self, walking around, eating well, resting well. What...
Hi there, i was told that if green ants bit them too much they can get a reaction. Guess thats why I'm a little worried about ant eating just in case. I'm still pretty new to raising chickens. Is it normal for chickens to scratch or continually groom themsleves?
hi I'm wondering if chickens can eat ants and is it good or bad for them? /in the little run i've created im pulling out old weeds and rubbish, putting in a soil improver. upon digging things up I have found numerous amounts of ants, I've bought a powder, but have closed off the area where I've...
The one on the bottom looks like a Cockrel. But I have to say my the oldest of my girl astrolorp had her comb grow really fast, then it stopped. She didn't crow, but the other 2 did. My little princess thought it was female, until from about 4 weeks old all of a sudden he went through this...
Hi there, I like this idea how can i do this without smelling the neighbours out. I live in a suburban block. I'm wanting to give them more to scratch on, so this sounds great. But I don't think i'm able to have an open compost heap. And are there things that I shouldn't put in the compost heap...
I need help too. I bought something off ebay, but its not really that great, looked great in the picture though. How can I modify this design living in a rental property with 4 chickens?
Hi just an update on my 4 babies. It seems that we do have a rooster. Started to crow here and there, but the last few days hes been crowing more. One of the most emotional moments I've had since I've had them. Sad to say we aren't allowed to keep Roosters where I live. So today it was a final...
I'll have to get more pictures because they've grown alot more since last week. I'm hoping they are all girls becaue where i am we aren't able to keep roosters. That's going to be hard, I'm so attched to them already
behaviour is that baby comes out 1st and won't let the others out. If they try to go out they basically get in trouble and get chased back inside. The only way they can go out is if I guide them out myself and if they go away from me Baby will chase them back to me.
