    Easter Egger mix

Oh, thank you! It would be most awesome if it's a pullet, since I'm already sure 5 of the 9 chicks are roos, haha!

    Easter Egger mix

Could anyone help me with the sex of this EE mix? Up until a couple weeks ago I was sure it was a pullet, then it sprouted those 2 long tail feathers. 12 weeks old. In the photo with all of the young EE mixes, it was much more evenly colored like a pullet would be, than the other...

Yes, I got the non-medicated starter food. Should I ferment it by itself, or add anything else to it? Thanks for the quick response :) Cindy

    Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Can you start day old chicks on fermented feed? I've been using it for my adult layers, but will be getting chicks soon. Do you just ferment the starter feed, or add anything else into it? Thanks!

    FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Hello! I am in Plant City (west central FL) and looking for a few chicks- some Black Astralorps, Buff Orpingtons, Delawares, maybe Speckled Sussex- along with 1 rooster chick. Most of the online hatcheries aren't shipping yet or have minimum orders of 25. I'd rather only get about a dozen...

    Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

OK, then I'm doing it right :) I'm having a hard time gauging where the liquid in the bottom bucket is, end up putting too much layer crumbles & water in.When I try to mix it after they soak up the water, the liquid from the bottom bucket spills out the sides. I'll just have to get better...

    Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

I'd be interested in the answer to the layer mash too. Also, do you mix the layer ration and the grains together in the same bucket, or ferment them in separate buckets?

    Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Thank you for this info! The pic was great- it looks like plain grains in the picture. Do you ferment one bucket with grower + grains, then one for just grains that you throw out for scratch? Reading this thread has been incredibly interesting to me, and I'm hoping to use the FF for more...

    Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

Thanks.....do you feed the same ratios all year, or do you adjust them based on the time of year? I think I read Beekissed varied hers at different levels of production or times of the year. I'm in Florida, so not a lot of temperature variation most years.

    Fermenting Feed for Meat Birds

I am in the process of setting up to start FF. But I'm a little confused about what the protein content of the mix should be. I found the formula for figuring out the finished mix % based on the individual percentages and how many parts there are. But how is the % affected by the fact that...
