Could anyone help me with the sex of this EE mix? Up until a couple weeks ago I was sure it was a pullet, then it sprouted those 2 long tail feathers. 12 weeks old.
In the photo with all of the young EE mixes, it was much more evenly colored like a pullet would be, than the other...
Can you start day old chicks on fermented feed? I've been using it for my adult layers, but will be getting chicks soon. Do you just ferment the starter feed, or add anything else into it?
Thanks!
Thank you very much! I will try to find her. I'm not really familiar with the site so it takes me a while to figure things out!

Hello! I am in Plant City (west central FL) and looking for a few chicks- some Black Astralorps, Buff Orpingtons, Delawares, maybe Speckled Sussex- along with 1 rooster chick. Most of the online hatcheries aren't shipping yet or have minimum orders of 25. I'd rather only get about a dozen...

Thank you for this info! The pic was great- it looks like plain grains in the picture. Do you ferment one bucket with grower + grains, then one for just grains that you throw out for scratch?
Reading this thread has been incredibly interesting to me, and I'm hoping to use the FF for more...
Thanks.....do you feed the same ratios all year, or do you adjust them based on the time of year? I think I read Beekissed varied hers at different levels of production or times of the year. I'm in Florida, so not a lot of temperature variation most years.
I am in the process of setting up to start FF. But I'm a little confused about what the protein content of the mix should be. I found the formula for figuring out the finished mix % based on the individual percentages and how many parts there are. But how is the % affected by the fact that...
