these are the eggs we got today. the one in the middle and the one on the right are the odd ones from what our RIR's lay. I'm color blind so i'm not sure what color the new ones are.

we got 1 green egg and one brownish pink egg today....do barred rocks lay one that color? brown eggs from the RIR's of course. so having 2 "odd" colored eggs in the mix confuses me on the 2 roosters. i thought i only had one rooster here. it wasn't crowing this morning either. i'm a chicken...

In the process of building coop now. Just built the nesting boxes yesterday. Right now they are about 36" from the floor. Is that too high? I can put the roost higher than the nesting boxes are. Reason they are up there is I have some windows to put below them yet. Windows will are 28"...

my first chicks will be here March 1st. ordered them through the local co-op. Brooder is all set up down stairs aside from dumping the bedding in. Coop is almost done outside and will be done by the time the chicks are ready to leave the brooder. It's so dang exciting!
