Hello, i have a mated pair of budgies that are 1 year old and are now in a breeding enclosure. I added a breeder box in and they seemed to be very intrigued by it.
My questions are how long from mating will the lay there first egg?
How do you Know the female is getting ready to lay?
How long...
hi william1hen did your budgie have at all any white/beige rings around the nostrils. or did it have only blue on the outer bits and pink in the middle. if it only was pink with blue outer bits it is 100% a male if it had two white/beige circles i would say female.
This is a pic of my 3 month...
it has light blue light pink cere with two white/beige rings surrounding the nostril. it also does not sing like my other male instead squawks alot.
what is he with a percentage. 1 to 100
also when i felt underneath on his tummy there was two bones they did not meet each other and there was a small gap in between, I just really want to be sure because i want to get it a mate

THE FIRST PHOTO ONLY IS WHEN HE was 6 weeks old full pink purply cere all over.
tHE OTHER THREE PICTURES
He is now three months of age and cHanging feathers.
He is getting lite blue around the nostrils and underneath is getting more darker blue with bit of pink/brown still...
yes, she will, as long as she has mated with a male nothing will stop her from laying, but nothing bad would happen and she would sit and cover all the eggs, At the moment my pigeon is covering 4 eggs due to some difficulties from another pair.
Hi, I have two pairs of pigeons 1 pair has laid eggs before and has had no problem hatching them, the other newer pair had the eggs and did not sit on them, so what i did is put them under my good pair.
My good pair laid two eggs yesterday and i also put these other 2 eggs under her today...
Thanks for what you have said, today I am surly feeing better, and likely I still have 5 pigeons squabs from two amazing parents, because 3 days ago my pigeon eggs hatched again, and the baby's are so cute and healthy.
I will keep the pigeons and will continue to love and take care of them...
