Catching Chickens . . . an Olympic Event?

Why is chicken chasing NOT an Olympic Event? Today after seeing my twenty, 4-month-old buffs flying over the fence, I decided to do a little wing clipping. These are orpingtons and normaly come running to me and peck at my feet looking for treats. Today, however, I walked into their run with net...

Can you vaccinate for mareks at 3 months old?

Hey all, evidently I have mareks in my young flock and wonder if it would do any good to vaccinate them at three months old. It looks like 4 or 5 of eighteen are affected. I plan to separate these in the morning, hopefully I can save the others. Any guess on whether I can save the rest if I...

1300 miles, 24 hours of driving, but I GOT 'EM!!!

Still air or fan? You're the pros!

I am about to take the plunge and buy a small incubator. Of the two available close by, one is still-air which seems to be a good quality product, the other is styrofoam with fan. I plan to have egg turner also, but would like to know which would be more productive - fan or not?

Dunlap Hatcheries-Anyone have experience with them?

I thinking of ordering from them, has anyone ever used them? They advertise Columbian Rocks and I WANT SOME! Just wondering if anyone might know of them.

Are Delewares the same as Columbian Rocks?

I know to some this may seem silly, but I've got 14 BRs and have decided to build a new coop and start on a few Columbian Rocks. I've not found a supplier for CRs or eggs. Ideal sent me a email stating that they were the same bird as Deleware and another website listed them as the same. Is this...

    Another Newbie

Hey, Just joined BYC, but have been "eavesdropping" for a few months. Got a flock [13 hens, 1 roo] of barred rocks. Live out in the country, Lee County, Arkansas. Grew up with chickens and such, but not had any for last 35 years. Nice to look out and see them again! Just starting to get...
