There is no limit on how many chickens you can keep in Bellingham. I live near lake Padden and I have 25 or something chickens, 2 turkeys, 1 goat, and am looking for ducks
Thats AWESOME! With a coop and run that size, over the years you can keep expanding with your flock. Though I would keep it to a minimum of 20 or 25! Have fun!
If I were you, I would put them into the coop and the coop only for now. If might be too cold for them in the run. At night, put a heat lamp on them. Hope this helps!
The first might actually be a Buff Orpington. Some times, breeds can grow up with a foreign comb or a comb that the breeds isn't supposed to have. The second one could be a Rose-comb Rhode Island White. The third one could be a white Leghorn or a Single-comb Rhode Island White. And the last one...
I don't know, it's always hard to tell at this young. And that is not a pea comb, it is a single comb. If you are dying to find out their gender, I would take them to a bird specialist in your area. If that seems to extreme, look for spurs and fighting among them and listen for a crow! Good luck!
My Welsummer Hen is very friendly and is a very good layer of dark brown with speckled eggs. She also does very well in shows. She has won Best Welsummer out of Washington State and she is not even a breeder!
Buy a Standard of Perfection or use some ones to compare your breed to the standard. If you would like to do showmanship or fit and show, look on the internet to find out how to show it.
