    Rest in peace, Napoleon

I remember seeing pics of him here before. What a great bird! At least he was loved and had a good life with you. Much better than many birds get. I tell myself this everytime I lose one. Then I go out and give another one a great life and love.

Hen Not Eating/Drinking. Very Worried. Need suggestions!

We have had hens act like this too. A few months ago we lost a couple. I decided to get aggressive. My feed store guy said most chickens die from worms. The belly will seem bloated, feel for the breast bone and then go back. She might be really full. If she is the worms are eating all the food...

i have a banty roo that has a foot fetish. We let him in the house to play and he will make love to my slippers or my wife's shoes if he can find them. Sometimes he tries to love my feet too. He is such a horny little bird! But not mean, just a lover.

    :) spoiled, spoiled, spoiled (:

We have used the feather duster many times. Works well. Then at nite we just hold the little ones till they sleep. They become so friendly as they grow up. Even if they think every feather duster is Mom!

Our Lexie Passed On At 2 A.M.

Quote: I so agree with the part of a wonderful life. Most birds don't get that. My wife and I have had birds now for 3 yrs or so and we get our most pleasure from them. Holding them, loving them etc. They are the most facinating creatures, all different and so loving sometimes. Don't stop. There...

    Hen Gravely Injured

That is really a hard one. If she can't see at all she might heal but what would her life be like? It breaks my heart too but you don't want her to suffer too long. When she is resting does she seem to be in pain ?

Sorry about your bird. I too am waaaaay to attached to my birds. I really think all we can do is try to learn as much as possible because we get almost no help from vets.

    Limpin' chicken...

I have had a limping hen a few times over time. Each time I seperate her from roosters and she gets better. Roos just get to rough mating and sprains or breaks something. They have all survived. Just one answer out of many possible causes. Hope it helps.
