Oh no issue at all. If you don't understand the best thing to do is ask. We have bears, mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes, and wolves here. Where I lived in Ohio we just didn't see many predators. Had one coyote in 6 years - got one of my girls. He didn't make it for another.
I just searched it on Amazon. It runs about $70 including shipping for the roll. There are other sizing options depending on what you need for your coop.
I was wondering if someone could tell me if the hardware cloth below is good enough for building a coop. I recently moved my flock from a fairly predator safe area to one that is not so friendly. I know to bury about a foot of it underground to discourage anything. Is the 1/2 inch small enough...
After 9 days, our Little Guy is finally walking again.
He jumped out of the sink while I was putting another in the basket. It was touch and go and I thought I was going to lose him. Several vet visits, physical therapy, meds, steroids, vitamins, and electrolytes he is walking again! I am so...
So the vet just upped the dosage of her meds and said to call with an update later this week. Said there’s not really anything else that can be done. :hitSo I guess I’m going to continue the PT and hope for the best. Could really use some prayers and positive thoughts for this little guy.
Oh yeah. She eats, drinks, and poops. She’s alert, she wants to be active but ends up looking frustrated because she can’t walk. She cleans herself, readjusts, peeps and squawks. Just has no balance making it impossible to walk, swims in circles, and prefers to lay belly up. Also, she gets very...
I was turned the other way putting one of her siblings in their basket when she fell, so I’m not sure if she hit her head. If she did, does it get better over time? Any treatment recommendations? Couldn’t that also be another reason she lost her balance and can’t walk?
We’re giving her...
Have you looked into a chicken tractor. We started our original flock in one and since the sleeping compartment is above it opens up that space for ducking during the day.
Wednesday my duckling jumped out of the sink and landed on the floor.
Ever since she hasn’t been able to walk, she pushes straight back, can’t turn herself over, and has zero balance. We’ve been to the vet, she has a compressed spine and a possible soft break to her ribs. I’ve been doing...
So I found a vet an hour from the house. They suspect a cracked rib and a spinal compression. We are getting steroid shots, and an X-ray. She needs a sling and physical therapy but should be able to recover. I’ll update once we are finished. She’s going in for the X-ray now. I’m so relieved!!!
So my duckling is sick and I want to start giving Nutri-drench. The directions have it broke down my age. We bought them from Rural King and I have no idea how many weeks old they are. They are just starting to come into their tail feathers. The rest is all still fluff. Any ideas?
