    Ok...thank you! The previous roo wasn't quite a year, but boy was he tough. I even pressure cooked him. These are 8 week Cornish Rocks. Hoping for a much better result this time though.

    eat immediately?

    After we process our chickens today, can we immediately cook them, or do they need to "cure"? Read something online about needing to wait 36 hours because of rigor mortis. We cooked our first rooster the day of processing last time and it was TOUGH. Help please. :-)

    getting close!

    As we are getting close to day 18, do I need to put paper towels down in the incubator or something? We have a small styrofoam incubator and it has a wire mesh bottom that they eggs sit on. I think I may have some hatching on different days. Any suggestions as to getting the incubator ready...

    Hi!

    I'm a new member and can't wait to get started learning and looking around on the site! We have 15 hens, 2 roosters, 14 chicks, 11 eggs in an incubator, and 8 eggs under a hen. :-) We live in Kentucky and have had chickens for 1 year now. beccastrozyk
