Could we have a set of twinnies in this egg? We’ve never had any of our silkies lay a double yolk we before so I’d be surprised if it was. But I don’t know what else these two blobs could be? They both move. This is a day 9 egg

One of my silkies started laying a couple of weeks ago. She was going really well and laying 6/7 days of the week. When will my silkie roo man up??

So...I had seen my silkie roo trying to mate with one of my pullets (she isn't laying yet but I was told when I bought her that she was close to POL). She would sometimes squat for him when he tried to do his thing. He was a bit uncoordinated. He started doing this 1 month ago and he is...

Best coop floor for silkies? Should I use SAND?

We finished building our new coop yesterday. I only have silkies and am wondering what the best coop flooring would be? My research is pointing towards sand because I want something that is low maintenance and clean and not smelly. Our run gets quite muddy. I was thinking of laying pebbles in...

Do you know what breed these chicks are?

These were bought as "silkies" but they can't be. They have a yellow beak and pink skin. They do have feathering on 3 of their 5 toes (although one chick does have 4 toes on one foot).

My chickens have paint on their feathers

I painted my chicken coop today and not long after I finished it started to rain (of course it did). So it's not drying. My chickens have brushed up against it. They are silkies. It was dulux paint. How dangerous is this going to be as they preen themselves???

One of my 3 month old silkies has a twisted beak, the older she gets the worse her beak Becomes. She is still growing but is noticeably smaller. We recently bought 4 more silkies from a different 'breeder' and one is starting to develop a twisted beak also. I'm so sad this has happened again...

I have 5, 10 week silkies and another 2 7 week silkies. The 7 week silkies are in their cage inside the run where all the other chickens live.
