I rescued these chicks from a first grade class that hatched eggs for science. The problem is they didn't know what breed they were. Can you help me?[/IMG][/IMG]
Thanks. I put up a roosting bar and for two days they haven't touched it by I think they are cold as we just got a cold front with rain. They are staying close to the heater lamp

I got her down right after the picture. This morning before sunrise I went to check on them and she was on the roosting bars IN the coop like a sweet hen. :) she scared me but hopefully she won't get up there again
My new hens are trying to roost on top of the fence of the coop! Our neighbors have dogs so it make me nervous they will get out and get hurt. Silly hens. I've clipped one wing yet she still got up there. . Can you see our chili pepper in the back of the coop on top of the fence? Haha.

Happy easter everyone! I got an easter surprise yesterday. Went to tractor supply to get dog food for DH's mom, and DH let me get the little giant still air incubator with turning tray!!!! :weee I am so eeggcited! Now I need my lil pair of faverolles to start giving me some fertile eggs to...
I have a few questions. How warm do 3-5 week old chicks need to be? When do they need a roosting bar? When can I introduce them to my flock of layin hens (I have six fully grown chickens)
We got our layin hens today. They are perfect!
We also have chick tv out our kitchen window. I am new at the chick thing. I'm nervous I will mess up so that they won't make it :(. I have a heater lamp for them at night but how warm is to warm?
