    I thought that may be the case with her heritage. The hatchery said they were ameraucanas, but as I've read I was wondering. Thank you for the info. She does not have a red comb, and I'm happy to hear that this would be present if she was a he. Thanks again

    Chick pecking!

    My chicken mentor advised me to put a little bit of Vicks menthol rub on the chick that was being pecked at. This will defer the culprit from pecking. She said it is harmless and will just give them a bad taste for pecking. I'm a newbie though. :) good luck.
