Possibly some bad feed. Anyway...up to 6 eggs a day..pitiful for this time of year, but just added half dozen babies this week and will cull some of the older ones as the summer goes on. Thanks for replies!

    Yolks not strong

They have improved in the last 3 weeks. Maybe more bugs to eat...I don't know. I have a mixed flock: brahma, polish, wyandotte, OE, EE, CCLB

    Yolks not strong

They have gravity feeder of oyster shell. I hand toss scratch for a treat and they are free range from sunup to sundown. I know I have a couple of egg eaters in the bunch, but I cannot catch them. I know they don't eat THAT many eggs!!

    Yolks not strong

I just revisited the label on my Purina Flock Raiser--20% protein. These girls are going on three years and I had incredible production until last fall. Seventeen hens and I am only getting 1-3 eggs daily. Am wondering if the protein is too high. I don't see any awkward ingredients in the...

    Yolks not strong

I've read through these threads....didn't quite get answers I needed. I seem to have a number of hens whose yolks on their eggs are very soft. In other words, when they are cracked for fried eggs, the yolks all break. Along with that, I am getting a number of softer shells....when I go to...

    F2 OliveEgger Roo for sale

I am in the Ocala, FL, area. Picked this chick up in the spring as a straight run group. He's a very big boy and has become the head honcho here, but I prefer the CCLB roo and wish to keep him, instead. He has been vaccinated for Marek's and seems to be in great health. Would like to get $10...

    FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

Good morning, all! I have a CCLB roo..coming on two years, who just got moved from Head Honcho to bottom of pecking order. Nice boy, will quietly take treats out of my hand. I need to re-home him before he gets beaten up any more or killed. Add some color to his babies eggs. Greenfire...

what time of day do your chickens lay eggs

Well. I have 2 that lay by 8 am and the majority lay 3-4 pm. Have 2 other that lay right at dusk. Wish they'd have a hen party to discuss and get sync'd.

No, I don't know what laid any of those eggs. I just found the picture on the internet. I don't have the room to try and make my own crosses. Genetics are tricky!

Right. That means my eggs should be almost white as cycle continues. Looks like they'be only been laying for a week.

Olive Oil The color is similar, although mine might be a tad paler. I am vastly disappointed. May as well have just bought more EEs. This is NOT olive. It is pale green. They should be called what they are.
