Does anyone in the central florida area have a few fertilized eggs to give away or sell? My bantam is extremely broody, and my wife and I have some extra room in our coop for some new chicks.

My Chickens Laid Once And Haven't Since

I have 4 chickens. One morning I woke up and went out to the coop to check on them, and found a clutch of 3 eggs. My wife and I were so excited, we'd raised them since they were about a week old, and it was extremely rewarding. Anyway, that was last wednesday. I have not seen a single egg...

    Chicken with a neck inury

We found a chick with a neck wound about 4 days ago. We used Blue Kote on it right away, but she didn't like it. The wound looks likes it scabbing over but she's picked all around it taking away a bunch of her neck feathers. So far we have some anti itch spray, liquid bandage, and now put a...

Injured chick not reacting to BluKote

Hi you all have been so helpful telling me how to take care of my wounded chick. She's six weeks and has a wound on her neck that we presumed from pecking each other. We got Blu-Kote today to put on the wound to heal and stop picking. This evening I went out to check and it was red again so I...

    Injured baby chick

Would putting her inside for the night separating her from the others be good? Will she be sad being away from everyone?

Found my chicks with a wound on her neck today. It's a little large, but not too deep. She acts fine and I haven't seen them peck at each other. There are five of them and they are about 5-6 weeks old and in a closed coop outside that animals cant get in. What do I do? Will she be okay? What do...

    Finding a missing chick!

It's chicken wire, so I don't think she could have chewed through it or fit through it.

    Finding a missing chick!

Sorry, should have been more clear. We have a netted run connected to the coop. That's where they were. I'm still not sure how she got out.

    Finding a missing chick!

No, they were in the run. She must have just found a way to slip out that we weren't aware of. I spent the rest of the evening making sure the run and coop were more secure.

    Finding a missing chick!

My wife and I bought six week old chicks about a week and a half ago. We live in a town house that's fenced, but there are many holes and gaps. Additionally, there are feral cats who live in some of the neighbors yards. Are chicks aren't old enough to be out in their run and coop alone yet...
